Macs On The Bridge

I was away this weekend, and after copious amounts of vinos and pizza, I thought I had better do a teeny 5km whilst the sun was out. My aim was to run along the river and end up at Suffolk Food Hall for a cuppa. However, with the lack of mowing of the grass verges, I couldn't access it, and very happily stumbled across " Macs On The Bridge". I have never noticed this from the road, but on a lovely day like today, picnic tables facing towards the boats and geese and swans bobbing along, it seemed like a great place for a cuppa! The lady that works there is probably one of the happiest people I have met, and the cup of tea was wonderful. To make things better it was a mere £1.70! Their menu is great, from hot baguettes, burgers, and rolls to some pretty impressive cakes I spotted, its definitely worth a little visit on a walk, or run. Just be aware that its cash only, but with prices cheaper than a Macdo, this is a business worth supporting. Follow their Facebook " Macs on the Bridge" Wherstead Road, Ipswich, IP2 8LS opened from 7am till 2pm everyday.

All inclusive anyone? "Spoons" Ipswich

Described as a " World Buffet and Bar " it does exactly as it describes. With every corner there is a different country. For those of you that know all inclusive hotels, its exactly that. For those that don't well you pay a fee, one for adults and one for kids at the entrance and you can rock on and eat whatever and however much you want. The kids love the independence. Saturdays do get a little chaotic and take away the charm, but week days are really calm and great value. Top Tip, get the prawns cooked for you on the plancha, they really are delicious. "Another Bowl" : ( inside Trugym, open to non members!)

What a fantastic find! Do not be put off by the fact it is in Trugym, you only have to walk through the sliding doors to the table. Fantastic menu, cheap as chips ( although you won't find chips here) and great, smiling service. I know, as I would like to think I was one of their first customers. They have really pushed the " Bowls" smoothie bowls, acai bowls, porridge bowls, etc... most definitely a great place to have " brunch" and the decor is great too. The only thing I will say is the wicker chairs maybe need a cushion or 2, but if that is the only problem, then steer away from the American chains and pop here instead. Plus parking is ample, free and outside of the door! " Another Bowl " is open weekdays 7am-6pm and weekends 9am till 3pm. 204 Ranelagh Road, Ipswich, IP2 0AQ
